Runners who overpronate place excess weight on the inside of their feet. The ankle rolls too far inward which forces the inner foot to do all of the push-off. For overpronators, more wear can be seen on the inner edge of shoes. Overpronation can cause strain along the inner side of the foot and toes. It can lead to shin splints and knee pain along with more serious injuries with age.
